Senior Calendar (Jan. - May)

September 12, 2017

  • Check with each college's financial aid office to determine whether you must complete additional financial aid applications.
  • Continue your research of scholarships.
  • Still waiting on college applications-- get them submitted!

  • Scholarship application deadlines are approaching - do not miss them!
  • Have you submitted your college applications on time?

  • Complete the remainder of your local, state, regional and national level scholarship applications.  Note deadlines!
  • Many schools send financial aid award letters at this time.  Use these letters to complete a College Cost Comparison worksheet.  This may assist you in determining the best financial aid award for you.  Be sure to review the award letters carefully.  You have to respond by a deadline, so do not delay or your offer of aid could be lost.
  • Have not heard from those highly selective colleges regarding admission?  Do not worry just yet. Usually these schools send acceptance letters at the end of this month or beginning of April.

  • Review your financial aid packages and compare with the college's Cost of Attendance.  Call the colleges' financial aid office if you have questions.
  • Determine which college you plan to attend and send in your deposit.  Selecting a college is an important and sometimes difficult decision! Discuss this decision with your parents and school counselor.

  • Complete housing forms sent to you by the colleges.  Some schools have limited residence hall space, which is usually first-come first-serve.
  • Inform your Counseling Office of your college decision.
  • Find a summer job and save money for college.
