PreK at Penasco Elementary

The Penasco PreK Program addresses the developmental needs of 4-year old children with a focus on school readiness.  The program allows the children to learn through self-exploration in large and small group settings.  New Mexico PreK and The Creative Curriculum support the teacher to facilitate individual learning experiences.  Indoor and outdoor activities are planned carefully to learn in the following areas:  Listening, language, reading, writing, science, counting, shapes, sorting, measuring, art, music,problem-solving,social skills, large and fine motor, hygiene, health and overall well-being.

Classes run 4 days a week from 8:00 am to 3:40 pm with groups no larger than fifteen.  The program serves both typical developing children as well as children with special needs.  Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided free of charge on a daily basis.  The children are transported with the regular school population on buses.

Parents of students and interested parties are encouraged to visit the classroom.  Welcome!
