Dear Peñasco Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,

My name is Michelle Gonzales, and I am deeply honored to serve as the Superintendent of Peñasco Independent School District. This year marks my fifth year serving the Peñasco community and my second year as superintendent. Over the past several years, I have witnessed the incredible dedication, resilience, and pride that define our schools and community. It is truly a privilege to continue leading this district with a focus on collaboration, equity, and student success.

With over two decades of experience in education, I have had the privilege of working alongside committed educators, students, and families across New Mexico. Each role I have held has strengthened my belief that every child deserves access to a high-quality education that honors their culture, language, and unique potential.

As your superintendent, I remain committed to building on Peñasco’s strong foundation of excellence while ensuring our schools remain places where all students feel valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their fullest potential. Together, we will continue to enhance academic growth, expand opportunities through Career and Technical Education, and nurture an inclusive environment that reflects the heart of our community.
